Each type and brand of diamond-cut wheel produces a different finish, ranging from a high-gloss surface to a coarser appearance. This variation depends not only on the quality of the aluminium and the settings of the diamond-cutting machine but also on the diamond-cutting tip used.

A 0.2 mm diamond cutting tip has a sharper profile and, when combined with the correct machine settings, produces a finer, smoother, and more polished finish than a 0.4 mm diamond cutting tip.
